The Group CEO of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has received the top management staff of delegations from Nigeria’s major upstream partners operating in the nation’s oil and gas industry. The courtesy visits were from the top echelon of major upstream stakeholders in felicitation of a new role of onerous responsibilities saddled on him by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
Mr. Ojulari, who recently assumed the head of the nation’s energy giant following the controversial axing of the former NNPC Ltd GCEO Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari by President Bola Tinubu, expressed his profound appreciation for those courtesy visits by the major energy stakeholders while reiterating his utmost commitment to the venture's common goal, aspiration, and need for a resilient strategic alliance.
But in course of adopting a strategic head on approach to the new leadership role currently bestowed on him by the President Tinubu of which he has also acknowledged its herculean nature, Mr. Ojulari has notwithstanding seized these great platforms of opportunities created by august visits to hit the ground running by invariably reiterating the energy stakeholders on collaborative roles needed to ramp up the nation’s current crude oil production level.
Ojulari has in separate event stated in clear terms that NNPC Ltd. under his stewardship is aimed to attract sectoral investments worth $30 billion by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030; raise crude oil production to over 2 million barrels per day, sustained through 2027 and attain 3 million by 2030; expand refining output to 200kbpd by 2027, and 500kbpd by 2030; grow gas production to 10bcf per day by 2027, and 12bcf by 2030 and deepen energy access and affordability for all Nigerians.
Receiving the NLNG Limited (NLNG) delegation on a courtesy visit, the GCEO described the NLNG as a strategic business for Nigeria and shared NNPC Ltd's vision of ensuring energy access for all Nigerians. The NLNG MD, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, congratulated the GCEO and his team, expressing confidence in their ability to advance the Nigerian energy sector. Both parties committed to deepening discussions on strategies for gas supply, decarbonization, and talent exchange.

He highlighted the importance of effective, value-based partnerships to drive sustainable collaboration and deliver shared value to both parties.
In his remarks, the Chevron Chairman/Managing Director, Jim Swartz, shared key points on CNL’s high-level strategy, identifying key areas for collaboration and alignment with NNPC Ltd. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy sector through strategic partnerships.
The GCEO outlined his management’s strategic objectives, emphasising deeper partnerships to boost investment. The Shell delegation reaffirmed their commitment to Nigeria as a key part of their global investment portfolio and pledged support for the GCEO’s vision.
