Caverton Offshore Support Group is an indigenous aviation firm with a wealth of established experience in offshore and onshore air operations services has unveiled its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Caverton Aviation Training Centre (CATC) at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The state-of-the-art modern facility equipped with precision equipment by international aviation regulatory standards is expected to maintain, repair and overhaul aircraft in line with Original Engine Manufacturers.
The training facility is also structured to train competent and highly skilled pilots with global expertise in air transport systems to meet international regulatory and industry standards and best practices with recognized international certifications.
Conducting the Minister of State for Petroleum Oil Senator Heineken Lokpobiri around the facility on his recent visit to the facility, the Chief Executive Officer, of Caverton Offshore Support Group, Mr. Olabode Makanjuola who expressed the company’s privilege to host the minister described the facility as a magnificent edifice that will reposition the Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and aviation as well.
“As a subsidiary of the Caverton Offshore Support Group, Caverton Helicopters has established itself as a leading indigenous operator in Nigeria’s aviation industry. Our commitment to excellence, safety, and reliability has allowed us to record a historical market share exceeding 70%, making us a key player in providing logistics support for the oil and gas sector.
“We are proud to serve esteemed partners, including Shell, Chevron, Total, NAOC, and NNPC, and we look forward to continuing this legacy of collaborating with relevant stakeholders in line with the vision of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to ramp up Nigeria’s oil production level to two million barrels per day is an ambitious and commendable goal,” Mr. Olabode Makanjuola stated.
Chairman, of Caverton Offshore Support Group, Mr. Aderemi Makanjuola in his keynote speech said that Caverton's mission in establishing this monumental aviation facility is to revolutionize the Nigerian aviation sector through innovation and evolving technology.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, in his on-the-spot assessment of the facilities, described the project venture as a first of its kind in the Nigerian aviation sector worthy of emulation.
“I have seen training centers abroad. I can attest to it that Caverton stands out. Caverton is a pacesetter. I am happy to be here today. Let me formally congratulate you. I am also happy to hear that you have pilots who you trained and have been employed abroad.
“I want to assure you that whatever is needed to be done will be done in order to to make our partnership a success. I also commend you for your records, so far, of zero casualties,” Sen. Lokpobiri said.
Sen. Lokpobiri lauded Caverton and the management for pulling out such enormous resources to venture into capital-intensive investment which is undoubtedly at par with what is obtainable in the developed aviation world stating that the project has singled Nigeria's aviation sector out as a hub for aircraft's Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and training of pilots with globally recognized certifications.
