Engr. Prof. Olusegun Ayoola. Ajayi obtained his B.Eng and M.Sc at Burgas University of Technology, Burgas, Bulgaria, and PhD at ABU, Zaria. He started his Chemical Engineering career at Lukoil Neftochim Petroleum Company, Burgas, and served at Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas at Bonny Island. As a student on scholarship, he enjoyed a student exchange program that exposed him to studying in different European universities.
He joined the service of ABU in 2001 and is currently a professor of catalysis and renewable energy at the Department of Chemical Engineering. He also serves as an environmental consultant and project manager for several companies. The acquired experiences birthed his own company where he concentrated on processing and training services and material selections for pipeline networking.
Academia and life
He has over ninety papers published in high-impact journals with several citations. He believes in domesticating technology to advance local technical know-how and address our peculiar challenges. He is delighted to train students and others. His flare for pipeline technology and security emanates from his long years of teaching fluid dynamics, unit operation, and thermodynamics. He has experience in the design, implementation, and security of pipeline systems, focusing on integrating advanced technologies for safe and efficient operations. Skilled in addressing emerging challenges in infrastructure protection and process optimization. He has a very good sense of humor and teaches with passion in a friendly environment, bringing the best out of his students. He is happily married with children.
Contributions at the National and Chapter Levels
Prof. Ajayi had served as a Member and Sub-Chairman for the training of students on material selection for desirable piping systems. Presently, he is a member of the reviewer body for many Elsevier journals, which has been used to strengthen Industry-Academia collaborative efforts, as well as providing mentorship and updated information to both old and young engineers in the nation and abroad.
