A newly built 650, 000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery has today experienced fire outbreak. The refinery which is situated at Lekki in Lagos State has of recent battling with issue of crude oil feedstock supply from multinational companies in Nigeria and currently replies on crude oil importation.
But according io reports reaching from our source Voice of Nigeria via its X handle, Workers are currently outside the section of the Dangote Refinery affected by the fire while firefighters are battling to contain the fire outbreak. The cause of the fire is not yet known
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, has stated that there is no cause for alarm. “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday, 26th June. There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty," he said.
