The Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas) Honourable Ekperikpe Ekpo has lauded the indefatigable and resilient efforts of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers in ensuring the availability of the product to the teeming Nigerian populace at an affordable cost.
Hon. Ekpo expressed his joy and contentment towards the current performance of the association. “I was thrilled to receive commendation from the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Marketers for our efforts in reducing and stabilizing LPG prices through the domestication of all LPG produced within Nigeria,” He Stated.
According to the Honourable Minister, the association courtesy visit led by the National President, Mr. Oladapo Olatunbosun in his remarks appreciated the swift action taken by the stakeholders' the following forum held in February. He highlighted the significant price reduction of LPG from N20 million to N15 million per 20 metric tonnes, and at the retail level, from N1,400-N1,500 per kilogram to N900-N1,000 per kilogram.
The Minister further reiterated the administrative effort of the current government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in actualizing the aspiration and purposeful act of establishing the Nigeria Decade of Gas Initiative which is the anchor to make gas available, accessible and affordable to all industrial and domestic users.
