Oilserv, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction company in Nigeria with special expertise in pipeline engineering design and construction, has, through the indefatigable leadership of its Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sir Emeka Okwosa, propelled the company's unparalleled expertise to greater echelons through its recent project execution and deliveries.
Oilserv has carved a niche in critical infrastructure projects in Nigeria, with unparalleled proficiency in pipeline design and construction, and was the first to initiate and complete Nigeria's largest diameter pipeline project, the 48-inch x 127 km Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) gas pipeline project. The company has also designed and completed the 36-inch x 43 km Anoh gas pipeline project.
Following the successful mechanical completion of the Ubeta 16-inch Multiphase Onshore Gas Pipeline Project for TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited in October, marking an important milestone in the project’s delivery and reflecting the commitment and resiliency of the company's workforce, Oilserv has showcased its competency in timely delivery of complex projects with a focus on time.
With the mechanical completion achieved, the Oilserv team of professional engineers will now move this important economic project into the pre-commissioning stage, enabling the Nigeria LNG Train 7 supply chain platform to achieve first gas and unlocking millions of Natural gas reserves for onward export and domestic utilization.
August 12, 2025 marks a significant milestone for the Ubeta Gas Multiphase Onshore Pipeline Project as Oilserv Limited struck the first welding arc. This unprecedented achievement marked the official commencement of welding activities on the 16-inch pipeline project.
TotalEnergies has on June 20, 2024, launched the Ubeta Gas Development project; the significant purpose of the multi-billion-naira project is to supply gas to the Nigeria LNG Liquefaction Plant, specifically Train 7
The Ubeta gas condensate field is located about 80 km northwest of Port Harcourt in Rivers state; the OML 58 license contains two fields currently in production, the Obagi oil field and the Ibewa gas and condensate field. OML58 gas production is processed at the Obite treatment center and supplied to both the Nigerian domestic gas market and the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) plant.
Ubeta gas condensate field will be developed with a new 6-well cluster connected to the existing Obite facilities through an 11 km buried pipeline. Production is expected in 2027, with a plateau of 300 million cubic feet per day (about 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day including condensates). Ubeta will supply NLNG, a liquefaction plant located in Bonny Island with an ongoing capacity expansion from 22 to 30 Mtpa, in which TotalEnergies holds a 15% interest.
Oilserv is set to deploy its latest technology for swampy pipeline construction in its recent multi-million-dollar pipeline contract awarded by Nigeria LNG. Oilserv was awarded a 36-inch x 6km gas pipeline construction contract, with Package A representing part of the 36 km pipeline project.
Package A is a shallow-water section of the contract and is expected to have a water depth of about 25 metres. The project commenced in the first quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the next two years.
Oilserv has successfully commissioned the 12-inch × 28 km ASSA–OBITE Gas Pipeline, marking the start of production and the commencement of its reliability run. Designed and constructed by Oilserv. The pipeline is part of the Assa North gas development project, designed to deliver up to 250 MMscf/d of gas to the Obite Gas Plant to support Nigeria’s domestic gas supply and strengthen availability for power generation, industries, and businesses that depend on a reliable gas supply.
The industrial and residential community of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory is set to receive first gas supply from the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline in 2026. This follows NNPC Limited's report that the project has reached its final construction stage, which is currently 95% complete.
Apart from entrepreneurial capability, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa, through his Sir. Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF) has, over the years, made life-saving healthcare more accessible, particularly for Nigerians facing barriers to specialised medical treatment. Through its partnership with the VOOM Foundation and international medical volunteers, SEOF has supported over 200 open-heart surgeries before its 10th Medical Mission, helping children and adults receive the advanced cardiac care they need. Healthcare is one of SEOF’s key areas of focus, with work that supports access to quality medical care for underserved Nigerians and the development of specialised healthcare services in the country.
At NIPITECS 2026, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa will join government representatives, investors, industry executives and global pipeline experts to explore opportunities and the latest innovations across Africa’s pipeline infrastructure sector. The conference comes as Nigeria attained 100% upstream pipeline availability, its crude oil production hits an all-time high, and the 3 million barrels per day production target by 2030 is on track.
Oilserv has been a platinum sponsor of NIPITECS over the years. NIPITECS 2026 edition, coming up on November 17–18 • Venue: Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria. Theme: "Financing the Future: Unlocking Capital for Resilient Pipeline Infrastructure in Nigeria" (marking 10 years of securing pipelines) provides a platform to discuss investment, resource development, and partnerships across emerging markets.
