Our History
CAP PLC boasts a remarkable lineage originating from the esteemed multinational corporation Imperial Chemical Industries Plc (ICI). Established in 1957 as ICI Exports Limited, our company has over the years transitioned through several significant milestones.
Our evolution from ICI to ICIE, ICI Nigeria Limited, Chemical and Allied Products Limited (CAPL) and finally Chemical and Allied Products PLC (CAP PLC), our technical partnership with AkzoNobel (the largest paint producer in the world); UAC of Nigeria PLC acquiring shares in our company; and our revolution of the paints and coatings industry in Nigeria when we pioneered the colour centre concept.
